Blotter: Stealth Soil Dumping, Fake Craiglist Ad

Read the police log for Half Moon Bay and the unincorporated San Mateo County Coastside from May 11-18.

May 11

10:00 am, Johnson Pier, Princeton: Battery. A fight broke out between two men behind Ketch Joanne's Restaurant resulting in one of them having a cut under his eye and a swollen lip.

12:56 pm, Cabrillo Highway and Vermont Avenue, Moss Beach: Public intoxication. A man was seen wandering on the highway, walking into traffic causing cars to swerve in avoidance. He was arrested.

May 12

10:55 am, 300 block of Grove Street: Unreasonable noise, obstructing a Police Officer, probation violation. Officers detained a juvenile who was yelling at and threatening family members.

May 13

10:30 am, 500 block of Church: Petty theft. A purse was reported stolen.

Time unknown, Pilarcitos Avenue at Beach Avenue: Tow. A vehicle was towed at this location.

8:44 am, 2000 block of South Cabrillo Highway: Welfare check. Officers were sent to check on a citizen.

7:30 pm, 400 block of Willow: Vehicle theft, DUI, hit and run, accident. A hit and run was caused by an underage drunk driver with a drunk passenger in a stolen car.

May 14

12:11 am, Cabrillo Highway and Pescadero Creek Road: Vehicle tow. A driver's license was found under suspension and his vehicle was towed.

3:23 am, 200 block of San Mateo Road: Under the influence of controlled substance, violation of probation. Officers found a suspect after he had fled, and was discovered to be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, and in violation of his probation.

12:53 pm, 900 block of Arnold Way: Unlawful access card possession. A juvenile stole their parent's access card during a family disturbance.

4:41 pm, Cabrillo Highway and Pescadero Creek Road: Vandalism. The front passenger window of a vehicle was found smashed.

5:30 pm, Pescadero Creek Road: Burglary. A cell phone was taken from a locked vehicle parked near the beach, after the windows had been smashed.

5:28 pm, Rossi Road Trail Head: Burglary. A purse and its contents were stolen from a vehicle.

Time unknown, 300 block of Chesterfield: Dumping complaint. A homeowner reported waste and soil in his back yard.

May 15

May 16 

1:57 am, 100 block of Kelly Avenue: Vehicle repossession. A vehicle was repossessed at this location.

8:09 am, 2300 block of Carlos Street, Moss Beach: Vehicle recovery. A vehicle stolen out of Sacramento was recovered at this location.

4:19 pm, 100 block of Culebra Street, Moss Beach: Theft. A resident invited a neighbor over, who was picked up by two men. After they'd left, keys, money and a cell phone were missing.

12:56 pm, 500 block of Kelly Avenue: Information. A citizen came to the police department asking for guidance with a civil issue.

1:18 pm, 500 block of Kelly Avenue: Information. A resident found their parents' home fraudulently listed for rent on Craigslist.

4:30 pm, 700 block of Kelly: Restraining order. A restraining order was put out.

4:47 pm, 400 block of Grove: Restraining order. A restraining order was put out.

May 17 

12:52 am, Miramontes Point Road: Vandalism. A man returned to his vehicle to find the front windows smashed, a dent in the driver's side door, and the passenger side door keyed.

1:41 am, Hawthorne Way, Moonridge: Vandalism. A vehicle's window was found smashed.

7:01 am, 500 block of Main Street: Domestic violence. A couple was engaged in a verbal dispute, and one of them agreed to leave town for the day.

Time unknown, 400 block of Metzgar Street: Vandalism. Windows of a parked vehicle were found broken.

Time unknown, 500 block of Filbert: Vandalism. A vehicle's window was damaged.

8:50 am, 1000 block of Miramontes Street: Forged access card. A citizen discovered fraudulent charges on their on-line statement.

11:37 am, 0-100 block of Sea Breeze Drive: Information. An officer was requested advice regarding a civil issue.

12:28 pm, 500 block of Main Street: Blocking driveway. A parked vehicle blocking the driveway of a business was towed.

3:40 pm, 100 block of Stonepine Road: Forgery. A business found false checks against their account.

3:49 pm, 600 block of Grove: Disturbance. The result of a family dispute was a juvenile being sent to Hillcrest at the request of the probation department.

May 18

12:33 am, 3000 block of North Cabrillo Highway: Domestic violence. A couple was involved in a verbal dispute.

3:44 pm, 500 block of Church Street: Assault and battery. Two juveniles were reported to be involved in an altercation.

5:19 pm, 100 block of San Mateo Road: Theft. A customer's property was allegedly stolen from a business.
