Sheriff’s Blotter: DUI Suspect Accused of Evading Cops; Accused Burglar Fesses Up

The following information was supplied by the San Mateo County Sheriff's Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Jan. 11

2:08 p.m. - DUI - 1400 block of Main Street, Montara - Deputies made contact with a subject who appeared to be under the influence. CHP was requested to complete the sobriety tests and subject was taken into custody.

Saturday, Jan. 12

1:17 a.m. - DUI - 000 block of North Cabrillo Highway, Half Moon Bay - Deputies made contact with a subject who appeared to be under the influence. Field sobriety tests were completed and the subject was taken to First Chance.

1:28 a.m. - DUI/Possession of Controlled Substance/Public Intoxication - Roosevelt Boulevard, El Granada - Deputies made contact with two subjects who appeared to be under the influence. Field sobriety tests were completed and one subject was arrested for DUI and the passenger was arrested for public intoxication, both taken to the San Mateo County Jail without incident and the passenger was to be released when sober.

12:20 p.m. - Vandalism - 900 block of Avenue Balboa, El Granada - Deputies responded to a report of vandalism to a vehicle. The vandalism occurred between 1800 hours on 01/11/13, and 1220 hours on 01/12/13. The victim believed that a roommate of hers might have vandalized the vehicle. The victim just wanted a report taken to document this incident.

3:44 p.m. - Grand Theft - Pinehurst Lane, Half Moon Bay - Between the evening of 1/11 and the afternoon of 1/12 unknown suspects broke into two different vehicles and stole various items adding to a total value of over $1,000. No suspects or leads at this time.

4:40 p.m. - Traffic Accident - Highway 1 and Highway 92 - Minor injury reported.

5:30 p.m. - Petty Theft - Deputies responded to a report of theft from a vehicle. Sometime between 01/11 at 1800 hrs and 1600 hrs on 01/12/, unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole her camera. This occurred in front of the victim’s residence. There are no witnesses or suspect leads at this time.

5:57 p.m. - Suspended License - Deboff Canyon Road, Pescadero - During a routine traffic stop, deputies discovered that the driver was driving on a suspended license. The subject was cited and the car was left at the scene.

 

6:03 p.m. - DUI - Coral Reef Avenue, El Granada - Deputies made contact with a subject who appeared to be under the influence. CHP was requested to complete the sobriety tests and subject was taken into custody. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

7:30 p.m. - Petty Theft - 300 block of Eagle Trace Drive, Half Moon Bay - Deputies responded to a call in regards to a theft report. Upon their arrival deputies contacted the victim who stated that sometime between 2300 hours on Friday, 01/11 and 1600 hours this date, unknown suspects entered his un-locked vehicle, which had been parked in his driveway, and removed several items of value. There are no leads at this time.

 

Sunday, Jan. 13

12:23 a.m. - DUI - Kehoe Avenue and Highway 1, Half Moon Bay - Deputies made contact with a subject who appeared to be under the influence. Field sobriety tests were completed and the subject was taken to The San Mateo County Jail and booked without incident.

12:23 a.m. - DUI - 400 block of North Cabrillo Highway - Deputies made contact with a subject who appeared to be under the influence. CHP was requested to complete the sobriety tests and subject was taken into custody.

2:17 a.m. - DUI - Highway 1 and Etheldore Steet - , El Granada - Deputies made contact with a subject who appeared to be under the influence. CHP was requested to complete the sobriety tests and subject was taken into custody. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

8:36 a.m. - Petty Theft - 000 block of Trace Lane, Half Moon Bay - Deputies responded to a report of a theft. Between 1800 hours on 1/11 and 0730 hours on 1/12, an unknown suspect opened the victim’s unlocked vehicle and removed several items with an estimated total value of over $500.00. The suspect also opened another vehicle owned by the victim, searched through the interior, but did not take anything. Both vehicles were parked in victim’s residence driveway when the theft occurred. No leads at this time.

5:00 p.m. - Hit and Run - Highway 1 and Main Street - No injuries reported.

 

Monday, Jan. 14

3:54 a.m. - Evading a Peace Officer/DUI - Alta Vista Road and Cedar Street, Montara - Deputies attempted a traffic stop on a subject who refused to pull over. When the vehicle was finally stopped the subject refused to follow orders given to him by the deputies. The driver was determined to be under the influence. He was taken into custody and booked into county jail.

5:37 p.m. - Public Intoxication - Airport Street and Marine Boulevard, Moss Beach - Deputy made contact with a subject, who was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was transported to San Mateo County Jail.

5:37 p.m. - Public Intoxication/Warrant Arrest - Airport Street and Marine Boulevard, Moss Beach - Deputy made contact with a subject, who was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself after doing a name check it was also found that he had two warrants. Subject was transported to San Mateo County Jail.

9:00 p.m. - Public Intoxication/Warrant Arrest - 400 block of Oak Avenue - Deputy made contact with a subject, who was found to be too intoxicated to care for herself after doing a name check it was also found that she had two warrants. Subject was transported to San Mateo County Jail.

11:05 p.m. - Annoying Calls/Emails - 300 block of Scenic Drive, La Honda - Deputies respond to a report of annoying phone calls that the victim had received earlier in the day. Arriving there, the victim provided suspect information, as well as recorded harassing messages left on the victim's cell phone by the suspect.

 

Tuesday, Jan. 15

2:48 a.m. - Warrant Arrest - Pescadero State Beach - During a routine patrol check of the beach parking lot, Deputies locate a suspicious vehicle that was parked illegally. The driver was contacted, and it was discovered that he had a warrant for his arrest. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and booked into the San Mateo County Jail.

10:35 a.m. - Petty Theft - Peekaboo Lane, La Honda - Deputies responded to a report of a missing street sign. After further inquiry no sign or the pole it was on was found. No further leads at this time.

1:11 p.m. - Hit and Run - 500 block of Pilarcitos Avenue, Half Moon Bay - No injuries reported.

6:38 p.m. - Petty Theft - 500 block of Highland Avenue, Half Moon Bay - Deputies responded to a report of a missing license plate. The victim told deputies that today he noticed his front license plate was missing. He said that the last time he saw the license plate on his vehicle was just before Christmas. The victim said that he did not know where or when the license plate was taken from his truck. No leads at this time.

11:38 p.m. - Warrant Arrest - 400 block of Cypress Avenue, Half Moon Bay - Deputies made contact with several subjects; after a records check was conducted it was found that one of the subjects had an outstanding warrant. Subject was arrested and taken to the San Mateo County Jail.

 

Wednesday, Jan. 16

1:46 a.m. - DUI - North Cabrillo Highway, Moss Beach - Deputies made contact with a subject who appeared to be under the influence. Field sobriety tests were completed and the subject was cited and taken to First Chance.

9:29 a.m. - Attempted Burglary - 100 block of Culebra Lane, Moss Beach - Deputies responded to a report of an attempted burglary. Upon arrival, I met with victim who told the deputy that she received a phone call from her neighbor advising that a window on the side of her home was broken. The victim estimated the loss of the damaged window to be approximately $200. No leads at this time.

9:41 a.m. - Petty Theft - 600 block of Palma Street, El Granada - Deputies responded to a report of a missing license plate. The victim told deputies that some time during the night someone removed his rear license plate was missing. The victim said that he did not know anyone who would have taken his license plate. No leads at this time.

2:00 p.m. - Residential Burglary - 200 Block of Miramontes Point, Half Moon Bay - Deputies responded to a report of a burglary. The victim stated that during several hours the day before, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s residence through an open window and took the victim's laptop. The victim did not have the serial number for her laptop. There are no leads or identifiable suspects in this case.

 

Thursday, Jan. 17

9:05 a.m. - Burglary - 1800 block of Etheldore Street, Moss Beach - Deputies were dispatched to a report of vandalism. A witness observed a possible suspect on site just before he left the property and before the damage was realized. Deputy located the suspect who later admitted to breaking into the three structures on the property. All of the items were recovered from the suspect. Suspect was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility without incident.

8:23 p.m. - Petty Theft - 200 block of Eagle Trace Drive, Half Moon Bay - Deputies responded to a report of petty theft. The victim reported that his son had taken money off his desk. The suspect was not present while deputies were there.

9:33 p.m. - Public Intoxication - 300 block of Metzgar Street, Half Moon Bay - Deputy made contact with a subject, who was found to be too intoxicated to care for herself and was transported to San Mateo County Jail to be released when sober.
