Sheriff’s Blotter: Mountain Lions, Stolen Cars and Meth

The following information was supplied by the San Mateo County Sheriff's Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Nov. 30

5:28 p.m. — Information Report — 800 block of Correas Street, Half Moon Bay - Deputy dispatched to report of two mountain lion cubs in the bushes near a residence. The cubs appeared to be about two months old. No adult mountain lions were seen in the area. The cubs left the residential area and returned to a wooded area. The next day the same two cubs were found in a backyard. Fish and Game responded to handle the incident.

Saturday, Dec. 1

8:13 a.m. — Missing Person — 600 block of Marin Boulevard, Moss Beach - Deputies dispatched to report of missing elderly adult female with dementia, who left a residential care facility during cold/rainy weather. A BOL for an At-Risk missing adult was issued and Search and Rescue Units notified. A citizen reported finding the woman near his property. The woman was cold, tired and confused. She was treated by paramedics and the BOL and SMC alerts were cancelled.

9:30 a.m. — Stolen Vehicle — 100 block of San Mateo Road, Half Moon Bay - Deputies took report of the theft of a utility trailer from a business. The trailer had been secured to a fence with a chain, which had been cut with bolt cutters.

 

10:54 a.m. — Information Report — 900 block of Arnold Way - Deputies performed a civil standby while the subject of a restraining order retrieved personal property from a residence.

 

5:39 p.m. — Possession of Controlled Substance/Vehicle Recovery — 11000 block of San Mateo Road - Deputies dispatched to report of vehicle blocking a driveway with occupants in the vehicle that appeared to be passed out. The vehicle was determined to be stolen out of Clear Lake. The male and female occupants were awakened and both found in possession of suspected methamphetamines. The female was in possession of a pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamines. Both were arrested and transported to SM County Jail. Arrestees: Weese, Desirae Naomi, 22 Of Clear Lake; Neldon, Billy Ray, 25 Of Clear Lake.

7 p.m. — Vandalism — 400 block of Cypress- Deputy took report of vandalism when the victim reported gang related graffiti found on his fence.

10:14 p.m. — Public intoxication — Kelly @ Johnston - Deputies dispatched to report of subjects sleeping on the sidewalk, and contacted a male and female sleeping in sleeping bags. The 21-year-old transient female subject was difficult to awaken and was screaming, argumentative, and unsteady on her feet. She was determined to be too intoxicated to care for herself and was arrested and transported to SM County Jail, to be released when sober.
