Sheriff’s Blotter: Traffic Stop Leads to Pot Bust

Friday, Dec. 28

1:55 a.m. – Driving With Suspended License – Highway 1 and Roosevelt Boulevard, Half Moon Bay – Driver cited for driving with a suspended license.

11:50 a.m. – Marijuana Possession – Johnson Pier, Half Moon Bay – Juvenile cited for possession of marijuana under 28.5gms.

1:00 p.m. – Information Report – 300 block of Correas Street, Half Moon Bay – Deputy dispatched to report of possible mail tampering, when a house sitter discovered the mail had been opened and placed back in to the mailbox. Nothing appeared to be missing, however one Christmas card and check had been ripped in half.

8:40 p.m. – Information Report – 1100 block of Birch Street, Montara – Deputy took report of disturbance, when an altercation occurred between two male juveniles over a broken window that occurred the previous evening at a party. One juvenile tried to get the other to admit he broke the window, and during a heated discussion poured a bottle of alcohol over the other juvenile’s head. The victim denied breaking the window, and declined to press charges. A report was taken to document the incident.

Saturday, Dec. 29

3:50 a.m. – Information Report – 000 block of Miramontes Point Road, Half Moon Bay – Deputies dispatched to domestic dispute when a man and woman in a dating relationship got into a verbal altercation. Both parties had been drinking, and were separated for the night. A report was taken to document the incident.

Sunday, Dec. 30

1:45 a.m. – Marijuana Possession for Sale/Transport - Capistrano Road and Highway 1 – Deputy on patrol observed vehicle with no registration tabs and performed traffic stop. The odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle and the driver stated he had smoked marijuana earlier that day. The driver was found in possession of approximately 44 grams of marijuana, plastic baggies, a scale box, and a large amount of cash in small denominations. He was arrested and transported to SM County Jail.

12:04 p.m. – Driving With Suspended License – Highway 84 and Highway 1 - Driver cited for driving with suspended license.

Wednesday, Jan. 2

1:05 p.m. – Information Report – 500 block of Metzgar Street, Half Moon Bay - Deputy took informational report regarding a voice message the reporting party received, that was determined not to meet the criteria of a criminal threat. A report was taken to document the incident.
