Sheriff’s Blotter: Vehicle Occupants Flee Moss Beach Traffic Stop

The following information was supplied by the San Mateo County Sheriff's Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, Jan. 19

12:38 a.m. - Missing Person - 500 block of South Cabrillo Highway, Pescadero - Deputies made contact with a subject that was reported missing out of another county. Subject was removed from the MUPS system.

12:58 a.m. - Warrant Arrest - 000 block of Avenue Alhambra, El Granada - During a routine traffic stop deputies made contact with a subject that had a warrant and was driving on a suspended. The subject was booked into county jail without incident.

4:17 a.m. - Driving with a Suspended License - Highway 1 and 2nd Avenue, Montara - During a routine traffic stop deputies made contact with a subject that was driving on a suspended. Subject was cited and released.

11:45 a.m. - Petty Theft - 700 block of Main Street, Half Moon Bay - Deputies responded to a report of a stolen sign. The reporting party stated that sometime during the evening the sign had be taken from their property. Sign’s estimated value was approx. $400. No leads at this time.

2:47 p.m. - Hit and Run Accident - 200 block of San Mateo Road, Half Moon Bay - No injuries reported.

6:50 p.m. - Public Intoxication - 400 block of Cabrillo Highway, Half Moon Bay - Deputy made contact with a subject, who was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was booked into San Mateo County Jail without incident and to be release when sober.

8:50 p.m. - Public Intoxication - 200 block of Capistrano Road, Princeton - Deputy made contact with a subject, who was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was booked into San Mateo County Jail without incident and to be released when sober.

10:47 p.m. - Public Intoxication - Sunshine Valley Road, Moss Beach - Deputy made contact with a subject, who was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself and due to his injuries from the fall off his bike the subject was transported to the hospital and released when sober.

 

Sunday, Jan. 20

2:32 a.m. - DUI - Frontage Road, Moss Beach - Deputies made contact with a subject who appeared to be under the influence. Field sobriety tests were completed and the subject was cited and taken to First Chance.

3:27 p.m. - Public Intoxication - 200 block of Capistrano Way, Moss Beach - Deputy made contact with a subject, who was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was booked into San Mateo County Jail without incident and to be released when sober.

11:39 p.m. - Public Intoxication - 300 block of Capistrano Road, Princeton - Deputy made contact with a subject, who was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself. Due to his aggressive demeanor the subject was booked into the San Mateo County Jail.

 

Monday, Jan. 21

12:44 a.m. - Public Intoxication - 400 block of Main Street, Half Moon Bay - Deputy made contact with a subject, who was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself. He was booked into San Mateo County Jail without incident to be released when sober.

12:50 a.m. - DUI - 6000 block of Capistrano Avenue, Princeton - Deputies made contact with a subject who appeared to be under the influence. CHP was requested to complete the sobriety tests and subject was taken into custody.

1:52 a.m. - Resisting or Obstructing a Peace Officer - Young Avenue, Moss Beach - A routine traffic stop was initiated after the vehicle appeared to be swerving from left to right. When deputies attempted to stop the vehicle is fled. Both occupants ran on foot and were able to elude officers. No suspects at this time.

2:34 a.m. - General Information - 100 block of Canada Cove Avenue, Half Moon Bay - Case Deputies responded to Canada Cove regarding a possible burglary that had just occurred. The RP reported that someone had broken into her house and put something on her bed. Deputies checked the residence and all doors and windows were secure. Nothing was found on the RP’s bed. Report taken for information purposes.

5:49 a.m. - Missing Person - 500 block of Avenue Alhambra, El Granada - Deputies responded to a report of a missing person. After an argument with his girlfriend, the MP ran out of the house. Deputies were unable to locate the MP and entered him into missing persons system.

11:43 a.m. - Drug Possession - 000 block of Avenue Portola, El Granada - Deputies came in contact with a subject who had marijuana in his possession. Subject was cited and released.

11:25 a.m. - Suspended License - Highway 1 and Highway 92 - During a routine traffic stop the driver was found to have a suspended driver’s license. The subject was cited and released.

 

Tuesday, Jan. 22

2:24 a.m. - General Information - 100 block of California Avenue, Princeton - Deputies conducted a routine traffic stop, the driver was given a warning regarding his violations and released.

7:47 a.m. - Burglary - 200 block of Harvard Avenue, Princeton - Deputies responded to a report of burglary. During the night unknown subjects broke into the RP’s vehicle, taking over $3,000 of items. No leads at this time.

8:33 a.m. - Burglary - 400 block of 3rd Street, Montara - Deputies responded to a report of burglary. During the night unknown subjects broke into the RP’s vehicle, taking over $1,000 in items. No leads at this time.

9:12 a.m. - Petty Theft - 400 block of Washington Avenue, Half Moon Bay - Deputies responded to a report of petty theft. The RP reported that during the night someone broke into the unlocked vehicle and stole some items and cash. No leads at this time.

1:45 p.m. - Stolen Vehicle - 300 block of 3rd Avenue, Half Moon Bay - Stolen Vehicle.

2:23 p.m. - Burglary - 400 block of St. John Avenue, Half Moon Bay - Deputies responded to a report of theft from a vehicle. Unknown suspect(s) pried the door handle of a locked vehicle. The suspect(s) gained entry into the vehicle and stole a stereo. At this time there are no suspect leads.

4:16 p.m. - General Information - 300 block of Church Street, Half Moon Bay - Deputies responded to a possible fraud. The RP stated that he received emails that his property was being advertised as being up for rent. The deputies were unable to contact the sender of the emails and RP has since had the company remove the ad. Report for information only.

7:10 p.m. - Public Intoxication - Cardinal Street and Admiral Street - Deputy made contact with a subject, who was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was transported to San Mateo County Jail.

6:58 p.m. - Warrant Service - 200 block of Bridgeport Drive, Half Moon Bay - Deputy made contact with subject who had a minor warrant. The subject was issued a promise to appear in court.

11:42 p.m. - Warrant Arrest - 900 block of Colonel Way, Half Moon Bay - Deputies made contact with a subject who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The subject was detained and taken to the San Mateo County Jail without incident.

 

Wednesday, Jan. 23

9:07 p.m. - Disobey Court Order - 100 block of Canada Cove Avenue, Half Moon Bay - Deputies responded to a report of a violation of a restraining order. Deputies later made contact with the restrained party who was arrested and taken to San Mateo County Jail without incident.

 

Thursday, Jan. 24

2:42 p.m. - Public Intoxication - Francisco Street and Ferdinand Avenue - Deputy made contact with a subject, who was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was transported to First Chance to be release when sober.
