Sheriff's Officers on Scene of Reported Gang Fight

A call came in to the Sheriff's Office just before 3 p.m. that a gang fight had broken out, with a possible firearm spotted.

San Mateo County Sheriff officers are currently on the scene of a reported gang fight in the Moon Ridge housing development in Half Moon Bay.

Detective Rebecca Rosenblatt, public information officer for the Sheriff's Office, said a call came in to dispatch at 2:43 p.m. Sunday to report a gang fight had broken out in the Moon Ridge sports field. The reporting party said he or she had spotted one of the suspects with a gun.

Officers responded to the scene and are currently handling the situation. Rosenblatt said they are dealing with an unknown number of suspects, and that, so far, no gun or firearm has been located, so it is possible that part of the report was unfounded.
