Sheriff's Office Searches for Missing, Possibly Suicidal, Man

San Mateo County Sheriff's officials say they found the man's car.

By Bay City News:

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man missing since Sunday who may be suicidal, a spokeswoman said.

Brian Butler, 36, was reported missing when his friends found his car parked along state Highway 1 south of the Tom Lantos Tunnels at Devil's Slide, sheriff's spokeswoman Rebecca Rosenblatt said.

Further investigation revealed that Butler had recently been depressed and was possibly suicidal, Rosenblatt said.

He had been seen driving near the San Mateo County Coast over the weekend and was not heard from since, she said.

Butler is described as a white male with brown hair and brown eyes, standing around 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing around 155 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt and jeans.

Anyone who might have information about the case is asked to contact San Mateo County Sheriff's Detective Lisandro Lopez at (650) 363-4055 or the sheriff's anonymous tip line at (800) 547-2700.

I'm not even going to waste my time on Terry. Some people just don't have a heart! I met Brian a long time ago. The one thing I remember about him was his bright and loving smile. Even though we lost touch over the years he always came across my mind, even to this day. It literally breaks my heart to hear he's missing. But I know this guy is loved by so many...between his friends, family and the community all going above and beyond to find him, I know he will be brought home safe. Brian, everyone loves and misses you! Please come home or at least let someone know you are safe. We are all here for you no matter what. ((Hugs))

Thank you Michelle for your grace and words. Brian was in my wedding. My husbands best friend. We just spent thanksgiving together and he flew down for my husbands birthday. He is one of the most radiant lights I've ever come across. So loving and thoughtful and funny. The kind of funny that makes your stomach sore. He needs compassion and love.

Maybe Editor Renee can let us know when a bad comment has been removed because I can't figure out who RWCoplady and Ryan were referring to or about.
