Supporters to Rally Wednesday to Keep Le Case in Public Eye

Missing San Mateo nursing student last seen two months ago.

Exactly two months from the day she went missing, friends and family of San Mateo nursing student Michelle Le plan a rally in Hayward Wednesday to press for her safe return home and keep the case in the public eye.

“The last two months have been a nightmare; it’s exhausting," said Le's cousin Kristine Dinh in a statement. "This rally is a chance for us to gather with her community and bring hope and strength to each other.”

The rally is set to take place from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Mt. Eden Park on the West Tennyson side of the parking lot. Lt. Roger Keener of the Hayward Police Department and Marc Klaas of the KlaasKids Foundation will speak.

Le, 26, was reported missing at 7 p.m. May 27.

She was last seen at the Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Hayward where she was performing clinical rotations. Classmates say Le stepped out to retrieve an item from her car, which was parked in the lot. She never returned.  She took her cell phone and keys, but left her purse and wallet behind.

Her abandoned car was found a few blocks from the hospital.

Famil, friends, supporters and members of Le's Beta Phi Sorority SFSU have planned a series of fundraising events to finance a reward and private investigator.

“Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something," said Michael Wetzler, who organized a event Friday at Icon Ultra Lounge. Wetzler said he did not know Le but said her family's dedication inspired him to get involved.

“We’ve been lucky to have so many dedicated volunteers,” said Le's brother Michael. “It also gives our family hope seeing so many people willing to help.”

Interested volunteers are encouraged to reach out to the family directly.

The family has offered a $100,000 reward for Michelle’s return and any crucial information leading to her whereabouts.

Those with tips who fear they may need protection are asked to call the Le family's private investigator, Michael Frame, at (925) 837-8309 ext. 33, or or send an anonymous email through the website www.TheFrameGroup.com.
