Update: Teen Walks Away From Juvenile Hall Camp

A juvenile offender is missing from a La Honda detention center.

Update Aug. 6 1:45 p.m.:

The missing teen from Log Cabin Ranch is back in custody, according to Allen Nance, Chief Probation Officer for the San Francisco Juvenile Probation Department.

The 16-year-old went back to his home in San Francisco last evening. He was then transported by his grandmother to Juvenile Hall where he was taken into custody at approximately 9:45 p.m.

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is searching for a 16-year-old boy, who walked away from the Log Cabin Ranch youth camp, a 640-acre property in the woods of La Honda which provides services to troubled youth ages 14 to 18 years old.

The teen was reported missing from the ranch camp Sunday at approximately 6:30 p.m., according to the sheriff's office.

The subject is described as a black male wearing a burgundy shirt and tan pants.

If you see the subject, do not approach him and call 911, according to the sheriff's office.
