UPDATED: Three Hurt in Four Car Crash in Half Moon Bay

Major injuries were reported in the crash.

Update:

State Highway 1 has reopened following a four-vehicle crash that injured three people in Half Moon Bay Tuesday afternoon, a San Mateo County sheriff's spokeswoman said.

Traffic was shut down on Highway 1 in both directions and reopened at about 5:15 p.m., Sheriff's Deputy Rebecca Rosenblatt said.

A four-vehicle crash in Half Moon Bay injured three people this afternoon and has shut down traffic along state Highway 1, a San Mateo County sheriff's spokeswoman said.

The crash happened near the intersection of Highway 1 and Higgins Canyon Road and close to Coastside Fire Protection District Station 40 at 1191 Main St. at about 2 p.m., county officials said.

Major injuries were reported in the crash.

Sheriff's Deputy Rebecca Rosenblatt said three people were injured and a medical helicopter was dispatched to the area.

Traffic was shut down on Highway 1 in both directions and was expected to remain closed until 4:30 or 5:30 p.m.
