Weekend Blotter: Two Cyclists Injured in Head-On Car Crash, Missing Person Found

Here's what went down in Half Moon Bay over the weekend. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, April 26

12:38 a.m. – Vandalism - 200 Block of Capistrano Road, Princeton - Deputies made contact with a subject, who was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself. Prior to contact being made the subject caused damage to the hotel room he was in. The subject was transported to San Mateo County Jail without incident.

Saturday, April 27

2:36 a.m. - Possession of Marijuana - 600 Block of Vue De Mar Ave., Moss Beach - During a routine traffic stop deputies made contact with a 21-year-old male from Moss Beach who was in possession of marijuana. The subject was cited and released from the scene.

2:40 a.m. - Driving with a suspended license - Etheldore, Moss Beach - During a routine traffic stop deputies made contact with a 33-year-old male from Daly City who was driving on a suspended license. The subject was cited and released from the scene.

8:10 p.m. – Accident – Highway 84 between Portola Road and Skyline Boulevard - A severe traffic alert went into effect in both directions of Highway 84 at Fox Hill Road because of an injury accident that occurred around 7 p.m. and involved a car driving off the road and down a cliff.

11:54 p.m. - Missing adult - 0-100 Block of Seacrest Court, El Granada - Deputies responded to a missing adult case. The reporting party stated that the missing person had gone out for the night to hang out with some friends in the South Bay. When she never called to say where she was the reporting party called the Sheriffs Office. Two days later the missing person made contact with a Deputy and stated she was in good health. She was removed from the missing persons system.

Sunday, April 28

12:30 a.m. - DUI, Drugs - 700 Block of The Alameda, El Granada - During a routine traffic stop deputies made contact with a 20-year-old male from Moss Beach who was driving under the influence. The subject was arrested and taken into custody without incident.

1:02 p.m. - Vandalism - 700 Block of 1st Ave., Half Moon Bay - Deputies responded to a vandalism sometime during the evening when someone had damaged her side mirror on her vehicle. It's unknown who would have done it. No leads at this time.

5:35 p.m. - Burglary - 700 Block of Kelly Ave., Half Moon Bay - Deputies responded to a burglary. The reporting party stated that the suspect took over $1,000 in currency. It's unknown who the subject may be. No leads at this time.

6:45 p.m. -  Petty Theft - 300 Block of Granelli Avenue, Half Moon Bay - Deputies responded to a petty theft report. The reporting party stated that several items were taken from his vehicle over night valued over $200. No leads at this time.

7 p.m. – Accident - Tunitas Creek Road, near Highway 1 - Two cyclists from Santa Cruz County were flown by helicopter to Stanford Medical Center after suffering major injuries in a head-on vehicle crash. The driver was identified as a Moss Beach woman in her 20s.
