Boil Water Notice Cancelled for Pescadero

County environmental health determines water is safe to drink.

After several days of having to before use, Pescadero residents are now being advised that the notice has been lifted, according to a notice sent out today by the San Mateo County Department of Environmental Health.

The California Department of Public Health, County Service Area 11 Water System, and county environmental health services lifted the boil order after determining that the water is now safe to drink from the tap.

The order was formally put in place on August 23 when service was restored to Pescadero after being without water for nearly .

Service ceased in the area on August 22. County Public Works director Jim Porter said that the cause was due a failed pump.

A new pump was installed early Wednesday morning, after efforts to fix the existing pump failed. The replacement was delivered to Pescadero from Salinas, which the county said accounted in part for the delay in to the area.
