'Charlotte by the Bay': Local Democrats Gather for DNC Watch Party

Speeches by Elizabeth Warren and Bill Clinton were the big draw at Wednesday's watch party at the San Mateo County Democratic Party headquarters in Belmont.

Volunteers and supporters of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and other local Democratic candidates gathered Wednesday night at the in Belmont to watch the evening's broadcast of the Democratic National Convention.

Deomcrats on the Coast were represented well with Moss Beach resident Brigid O'Farrell, member of San Mateo County Democratic Central Committee and president of the Coastside Democrats, in attendance.

A second watch party, called "Charlotte by the Bay," will be held Thursday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m., the highlight of which will be President Barack Obama's acceptance of his party's nomination.
