County Redistricting Meetings Begin

A meeting for residents to give input on the county's process will take place in Half Moon Bay on June 16.

The first in a series of five meetings to discuss moving the boundaries of San Mateo County's supervisorial districts will be held in Menlo Park tonight.

Meetings will be held in each of the county's five districts to gather public input on the boundary adjustment process.

The Board of Supervisors is required to adjust its district borders based on updated population data from the 2010 national census.

Any potential modification in district boundaries would not affect the county's voting process, in which all county residents are able to vote in each supervisorial race.

The League of Women Voters is facilitating the meetings, which take place in June and July.

Tonight's meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Menlo ParkSenior Center Ballroom, located at 100 Terminal Road in Menlo Park.
