Karen K. Anderson, Director to Succeed Mike Alifano If Recalled

How much more or less will a stand-alone Coastside department cost the community? 

According to their own budget, Messrs. Alifano, Mackintosh, and Riddell's stand-alone department will cost approximately $1.7 million dollars more per year than we are currently paying CalFire.  In a struggling economy, we cannot afford to take risks that cost our communities millions  and put our residents at risk. Voting for the recall is a matter of dollars and sense for all coastside residents.

How is the level of service of CalFire better or worse than the level of service of a stand-alone Coastside department?

The level of service from CalFire has been outstanding the entire time that they have been providing it here on the coastside.   It does not make sense to introduce an inexperienced, poorly trained, and expensive stand alone department to our coastside communities.

Why Vote Yes or No On The Recall?

Voting Yes on the recall is the only way to remove the board majority members, and replace them with board members who will restore the CalFire contact.  We must recall these board members to ensure our continued safety, both physical and fiscal.
