Live Telecasts of Half Moon Bay City Meetings on Hold Until Comcast Fixes Technical Issues

Recorded showings to continue playing on Pacific Coast Television (PCT) while Comcast addresses persistent audio and visual glitches during live broadcasts.

Live telecasts of Half Moon Bay City Council and Planning Commission meetings will be temporarily suspended due to Comcast’s failure to fix reoccurring audio and visual problems, according to a prepared press release from the City of Half Moon Bay.

The live telecasts on Pacific Coast Television (PCT) will return as soon as Comcast corrects these problems and can guarantee a suitable level of service. Viewers will continue to have access to the encore showings on PCT.

Over the past year, the City has experienced continual technical issues with the live telecasts of Half Moon Bay City Council meetings, inconveniencing numerous Coastside viewers.

The City and its public access television provider have identified the issues as Comcast-related difficulties and City staff has made repeated requests to Comcast to address the situation. Nevertheless, the complications have persisted making it difficult for residents and other interested parties to watch live broadcasts.

The City will continue to request that Comcast immediately solve these reoccurring problems; however, if the issues with Comcast are not resolved in a timely manner, the City will file an official complaint with the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), which oversees Comcast’s statewide video franchise.
