Memorial Day at the American Legion

Service starts at 11 a.m. and is followed by a BBQ lunch.

Today at 11 a.m. veterans and their families will congregate at the in Princeton for a service to commemorate those who have served their country in war.

A tri-tip lunch, free to veterans and $10 to the general public, will follow.

"It's important to have an American Legion in your community that looks out for the soldiers that are at war now and for the future soldiers who will one day go out," said American Legion commander Tina Miles. "That's what we are about — to help the young soldiers as well with a place for comradeship and to have a place for them to openly speak about things that only others who have served in war can relate to. It's a brotherhood, and Memorial Day is a reminder to all about those who give their life to this nation."
