Pescadero Without Water for Two Days (PHOTOS)

Failed pump leaves Pescadero dry.

Pescadero residents were without water since Monday afternoon and throughout Tuesday. All businesses in town to close because of the water crisis, which was caused due to a failed pump.

Duarte's Tavern and Resturant had already closed at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, leaving some without a place to eat in town.

One resident suggested that businesses look into their insurance coverage for an "Interruption of Service" clause.

Others questioned why an auxilary pump that exists for emergencies was not put into service and were told that it could not handle the load.

A that was recently installed near the Post Office warned residents to boil their well water.

Portable toilets orderd by San Mateo County were delivered and installed near the corner of Stage Road and Pescadero Creek Road Tuesday evening. Residents reported not enough water pressure to flush their own toilets.

The Half Moon Bay Review reported that the equipment to replace the pump will not arrive until Wednesday.
