POLL: Obama to Raise Funds in Bay Area Again

In his third trip in three months, the president continues to collect campaign dollars in Silicon Valley.

Californians have contributed more than $50 million to candidates in the 2012 presidential campaign, according to the Federal Election Commission. Of that total, President Obama has collected $28 million, with Republican Mitt Romney drawing $12 million.

KCBS reports that Obama might return to the Bay Area for another trip on July 23rd. This would be his third trip in as many months. During his last trip on June 6th, the president raised $2 million; later that week media outlets reported that Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney out-fundraised Obama $76 million to $60 million nationwide in the month of May.
