Middle Eastern Restaurant Slated for Yountville

Restaurateur Gene Tartaglia, who also owns BarBersQ in Napa, is bringing Middle Eastern cuisine to Yountville, according to the Inside Scoop foodie blog.

Yountville's dining options are about to increase with the addition later this year of a Middle Eastern restaurant at 6488 Washington St., according to a Jan. 16 post on SFGate's "Inside Scoop" foodie blog.

Restaurateur Gene Tartaglia, who also owns BarBersQ in Napa and Mecca in San Francisco, hopes to open in the spring, calling his new eatery Tucker's Larder, reports blogger Paolo Lucchesi.

Lucchesi provides more details at http://insidescoopsf.sfgate.com/blog/2013/01/16/gene-tartaglia-to-open-a-middle-eastern-restaurant-in-yountville-tuckers-larder/

Not Spicy in the jalapeno sense or hot sauce sense; spices can be tangy or sweet.

Not that I know a lot about middle eastern food, just commenting on my own experiences with the cuisine.

It is definitely a myth. It is a different type of spicing, like Thai. Napa cuisine and Middle Eastern cuisines are comparable in spice levels. Fresh hummus is amazing, and unlike the muck they sell in stores. Pita breads are actually fluffy pockets and delicious. I will stop there because everything else I am typing is making me hungry.

Now if only we could get a good Indian place in the area. The last one to open here wasn't that good and was overpriced and is now gone.
