Women Traveling Solo Workshop

Join us at the Pigeon Point Lighthouse Hostel for a free travel education workshop specifically designed for women traveling solo.

Our travel education workshops offer tips on research and planning, budgeting, packing light, and saving money, in addition to ideas and advice in line with the workshop's specific focus -- all with the hope that you'll go on to explore the world with an open mind, cultural sensitivity, and environmental awareness.

Women Traveling Solo is a workshop for women of all ages who are planning to travel by themselves for the first time, or who are looking for smart tips on how to add more value and independence to their solo travel adventures.

This workshop will be delivered by Megan Seelie, a native Ohioan who learned the awesome power of her passport at the age of 15. She has since traveled overland through China, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand, sailed around the Bahamian Islands, traversed the Australian coast in her Volvo, and trekked through Europe. Her solo journeys include moving to China and backpacking across Japan, Europe, and New Zealand.

She recently hitchhiked from Anchorage, Alaska, back to San Francisco, the city she now calls home. When Megan is not traversing the globe she spends her time surfing, cycling, freelance writing, and graphic designing.
