Last Chance to Donate School Supplies for South Coast Youth

Bring supplies to the Half Moon Bay Coastside Farmer's Market today from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Last day to donate is July 31.

Puente’s deadline for Team Backpack is rapidly approaching on July 31. The campaign is kicking into its final stretch, collecting backpack and school supplies to create backpacks for 200 Pescadero and La Honda students.

Supplies can be dropped off today at the in Half Moon Bay from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Click to see the list of supplies needed.

Three San Francisco seventh graders, Hazel Olson-Dorf, Maya Rich, and Sarah Weihl, are part of Puente’s Team Backpack, collecting school supplies and donations from their communities. They are doing this project as part of the rituals related to becoming Bat Mitzvah in the Jewish tradition. They collected supplies from their school community, friends and relatives, as well as through Congregation Sha’ar Zahav. With the donated cash, they bought supplies at Target.

Volunteers from First Congregational Church of Benicia, Peninsula Metropolitan Community Church, Congregational Church of San Mateo, and Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory are also collecting supplies for the drive.
