Sea Crest Hosts National Association of Independent Schools President

Sea Crest school in Half Moon Bay was honored to host Dr. John Chubb, President of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), on Sept. 18.

Dr. Chubb spent his time visiting classrooms, meeting with administrators, touring the building's new construction, and getting to know the school.  

In an address to the Sea Crest faculty and staff, Dr. Chubb discussed current trends in education and ways that schools, independent and otherwise, can best serve students in a rapidly changing world.

A prominent thought leader, Dr. Chubb’s writing has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Education Next, The Public Interest, and The American Political Science Review, among other publications. He was a senior fellow at The Brookings Institution from 1984 through 1992, and has served as a distinguished visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University since 1999, where he is also a member of the Koret Task Force on K-12 Education. Earlier in his career, Chubb was an assistant professor of political science at Stanford University, 1978 - 1986, and taught courses in the politics of education, national policy, and statistics at Johns Hopkins University and Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public Policy.
