Suspicious Man Seen Driving Around Vallemar School

Pacifica School District Superintendent Wendy S. Tukloff pens a letter to parents and guardians to be on the alert of a man seen driving a black Toyota 4Runner around the school Friday.

A letter from the Pacifica School District Superintendent Wendy S. Tukloff went out yesterday alerting parents and guardians that a suspicious man was seen driving past Vallemar School and side streets several times Friday.

According to Tukloff, during the morning drop-off at Vallemar School, a black Toyota 4Runner vehicle driven by a white male, stocky build, balding, possibly mid to late 40s was seen driving slowly past the school and side-streets several times.

The suspicious activity was also reported to the Pacifica Police Department.

In the letter, Tukloff asks parents and guardians "to be on alert" and call the Pacifica Police Department at 650-738-7314 should you see this vehicle "cruising around our schools or anywhere that children are present."

The schools will be speaking to all students regarding safety and walking with at least one other friend. Additionally, the Pacifica Police will be monitoring the schools closely, says Tukloff.

Questions or concerns should be directed to school principals.

It wasn't just any one driving around. It was a man out on bail awaiting trial for sexually assaulting children.

As a society when are we going to take a stand againt allowing sex offenders out on the loose? Enough is enough...sex offenders RARELY IF EVER ARE "CURED" OF THEIR DESIRES. They are extremely likely to reoffend. Pacifica has over 20 registered sex offenders living in its various villages, most of whom committed crimes against children under age 14. Come on parents, take a stand and say ENOUGH... Our children deserve full protection from these beasts!

well maybe they could bring back crossing guards and/or some other part-time gig during the trek to/from school rather than wasting it on all these admins/facilitators/directors/planners - saying 'enough' isn't good enough, yes we know most of the time once a pedo always a pedo, look at the recent arrests with the huge # of boy scout people arrested in the bay area alone. Also be careful single mothers and any parents of non-verbal or special children. It isn't always the lurker in the trenchcoat and the van, as we all know.

Was this the man Glen Albrecht recenlty arrested for groping a child in Target? Why is he even allowed on the streets! I'm afraid to let my kids go out and play in the yard now knowing he's out there cruising around. Makes me SICK.

The subject that was seen driving near Vallemar School has been identified, contacted and admonished by Pacifica Police officers. However, since there was no crime committed, they cannot name or identify the subject in question. Pacifica Patch put a call into the police about this and they assured me that this man has been put on notice and warned that he should not be loitering on or around any of our schools. Pacifica Police also sent this message to Patch: "The safety of our community is our number one priority and we will do everything we can do to assure the safety of our children."
