With school starting in just over a month, Half Moon Bay High School is filling out its roster. Cabrillo Unified School District officials announced Monday that Justin Ferdinand has been hired as the school's new Athletic Director and Special Education teacher.
“We are thrilled to have Justin join the Cougar community,”said Allison Silvestri, principal of Half Moon Bay High School.” He is a strong addition to the Athletic and Special Education departments, and I am certain that his passion and fresh ideas will positively impact our school.”
Ferdinand was previously a special education teacher at Aliso Niguel High School in Aliso Viejo, Calif. Before that, he taught at Mission Viejo High School in Mission Viejo, Calif.
Ferdinand has also coached high school boys and girls water polo and swimming. He is a current member of the Positive Coaching Alliance.
“I am extremely excited about this new opportunity and am looking forward to becoming a part of the Cougar community,” said Ferdinand. “I am confident that the school year will be outstanding.”
The district reports that Ferdinand holds a Master’s of Arts in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Chaminade University of Honolulu.
