Moss Beach Resident Reports Back From the 2012 London Olympics

Most exciting so far: seeing the local Brownlee brothers take Gold and Bronze in the Men's Triathlon this week.

By Stephanie Roberts

We have been able to experience the Olympics and London in small ways and big ways over the past couple of weeks.

The small ways include the iconic double-decker red buses and red telephone booths. We find it easy to get around on buses and London’s underground subway, and about 20 miles outside of London, we toured the studio where all the Harry Potter films were made. It was outstanding.

When it comes to catching the Olympic games, there are events you can watch without needing a ticket, such as the Triathlon, Marathon, and bike races throughout the city.

It was pretty exciting to see the local Brownlee brothers take Gold and Bronze in the Men's Triathlon yesterday.

Today, Ross and the boys are going to watch the U.S. Men's Basketball hopefully crush Australia, which has had very weak overall performance these Olympics.

Lastly, tomorrow is a big night for Track and Field. We are fortunate to have three tickets to watch the final rounds of a few events, including the Men's 800. This was Ryan's best event when he ran track for Half Moon Bay High School.

Stephanie Roberts lives in Moss Beach with her husband Ross. They have two boys Brett and Ryan. The family shares a passion for sports and are currently attending the Olympics in London with one of their son’s best friend, Mitch Martin.
