Patch’s Summer Ice Cream Journal

This summer, kids and adults alike are invited to keep a record of their ice cream stand visits on Half Moon Bay Patch.

just announced their newest organic soft serve ice cream flavor just in time for summer: sea salt and olive oil.

“Try it, we dare you ... you'll be hooked just like us. Tastes like caramel, really!” reads a post on the restaurant's Facebook page.

With so many great places on the Coast like Sam’s to get delicious ice cream this summer, Half Moon Bay Patch invites you to record your ice cream eating adventures in and around town.

In the comments section below, share your favorite place to get ice cream. Tell Patch readers your favorite flavor, from where and why? Where’s your favorite place to go get a cone, soft serve or a banana split sundae?

Record any and all ice cream eating adventures you experience this summer, including if you have an ice cream maker at home and make your own. If so, what’s your favorite recipe? Share it with us in the comments section.

At the end of the summer, we’ll round up your responses so you can vote on your favorite ice cream. Can you ever really eat enough ice cream?

Pumpkin ice cream at El Granada Market/Hardware store! On the last day of school in just a couple more days we'll be there getting our pumpkin ice cream cones, the best! We also go there every time we're at surfer's beach.

Fudgsicle Ice Cream sounds so good. Thanks Denise for sharing your recipe! Dee, my kids love the pumpkin ice cream at EG hardware, too. We also like riding our bikes to Mezza Luna Cafe after dinner for gelato. They have a wonderful selection of flavors. I'll let you know my new favorite next time we go.

I love the homemade ice cream that Flavor sells by the quart. There are always several different flavors from which to choose and this ice cream is the real deal.

This past weekend my daughter's and I stopped in M Coffee on Main Street for a quick scoop of ice cream before running some errands. They have Mitchell's Ice Cream from San Fran there. We tried two flavors we've never had before: the Mexican chocolate (with cinnamon) and mango, both good but we all preferred the mango. Has anyone else tried the Mexican chocolate? What do think?

Cinnamon Bacon ice cream? Has anyone tried these house-made ice cream flavors from Flavor? Bourbon-Spiced Pecan, Caramel Apple, Milk Chocolate-Cherry Bock, Olallieberry Spoom, Cranberry-Pomegranate Sorbet, and Cinnamon Bacon. How are you they?
