East Dublin, Georgia – Rednecks with money are needed to resurrect the annual Summer Redneck Games, say organizers.
For the second straight year, the event’s organizers say there will be no mud-flopping, no toilet-seat tossing, no pigs-feet bobbing in Laurens County this summer.
Organizers of the annual Redneck Games say they'll take the year off, reports WMAZ TV.
The games started in 1996 as a parody of the Atlanta Olympics, drawing visitors from all over and lots of media attention.
But Larry Drew of the East Dublin Lions club said the games suffered from the poor economy in recent years, and was a lot of work for the small club.
The Redneck Games could be back in 2015, if new sponsors can be found to help finance the event.
