Unsung Pumpkin Festival Heroes

Meet a dynamic duo who keep Half Moon Bay's flagship festival running smoothly.

Each year at the , hundreds of thousands of people converge on Main St. to eat, drink, and enjoy.

But who are some of the faces behind the scenes that keep everything running smoothly?

A dynamic duo many festivalgoers will never meet are Captain Trash and his First Mate — a.k.a. Joe Guistino and Ed Love, respectively — who spend the weekend zooming around on their John Deere 4x2 Gator Utility Vehicle hauling trash from the IDES Hall Food Court grounds.

, they estimated hauling 20 bags an hour throughout the weekend.
