Fruits and veggies set the pace for 116 participants in Puente's first annual 5K Walk/Run on Aug. 17. The event was one of a series of activities marking Puente's 15th anniversary.

As the region’s only Community Resource Center, Puente da la Costa Sur serves the San Mateo County South Coast communities of Pescadero, La Honda, Loma Mar, and San Gregorio. Puente both advocates for these communities and leverages resources that foster economic prosperity and security, and that promote individual and community health and wellness. The organization supports local leaders and works together with their neighbors creating solutions for their diverse communities.

Join Puente at Community Day at New Leaf on Aug. 29. 5% of ALL sales from opening until closing will help support Puente’s vital and innovative programs for women, men and children on the South Coast of San Mateo County.

The day will include cooking demonstrations and food sampling from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.
