VIDEO: Remembering the Spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Keeping his message alive on the Half Moon Bay Coastside and in San Mateo County.

Today, on Martin Luther King Day, communities will remember his legacy through commemorative events, service days, and gatherings across the country.

On the Peninsula, the Martin Luther King Freedom Train will make a stop at the San Mateo CalTrain station to honor those who have continued to champion civil rights and social justice.

In 2011, South Coast and Pescadero/LaHonda-based organization was honored as the honorary organization of the year.

According to CalTrain, the Freedom Train will begin its journey at San Jose's Diridon Caltrain Station this morning at 9:30 a.m. and stop at the Sunnyvale station (9:45 a.m.), Palo Alto station (9:59 a.m.) and San Mateo station (10:22 a.m.), then make the final stop in San Francisco at approximately 10:55 a.m.
