Coastside State Parks Association Presents "Next Steps for State Parks" Talk

Meet California State Park Director Major General Anthony Jackson at Ano Nuevo and get an inside look at California State Parks and hear the director's vision and plans for the future. The 280 state parks comprise 1.6 million acres, host 70 million visitors annually, bring $6.5 billion to the California economy and support 56,000 jobs.   Yet the state park system is struggling with budget cuts, increased park acreage and old business systems.

Sunday, Oct. 6

Tricycle Music Festival at Pescadero Elementary School

If banjos, toe tapping, and harmonies make your heart smile, don't miss out on the Grammy award-winning kindie duo, The Okee Dokee Brothers from 11 a.m. to noon.  Inspired by nature, community, and adventure, they weave their outdoor stories into new classic songs.  Come hear why they won the 2013 Grammy for "Can You Canoe?"

Moss Beach Park Clean Up Day

Join Cub Scout Pack 255 at 1 p.m. for an afternoon of cleaning up the park. Bring your gloves, rakes, push brooms, wheel barrows, shovels and pitch forks. New wood chips will need to be spread and fluffed. Also, there is an accumulation of tree branches just outside the west fence of the playground and Friends of Moss Beach Park are looking for a tree branch chipping service, or a couple of pickup trucks to haul the branches to the dump.

All weekend long

Diary of Anne Frank at Coastal Repertory Theatre

This is your last chance to catch Coastal Rep's The Diary of Anne Frank. The show closes Sunday, Oct. 6 with a matinee. The award-winning, critically acclaimed version of The Diary of Anne Frank ends Coastal Rep's season with a riveting view into a young girl's personal account of the Holocaust. Through this family's unimaginable experience we get a glimpse into the spirit, optimism, and nobility of the human soul. Come along with us for a heart-wrenching and educational journey back to a terrifying period in history. Ticketed patrons of the theatre are also invited to tour the exhibit, Anne Frank—A History for Today, which focuses on the Holocaust, WWII and the Frank family, before the performance.
