Kathy Kosins – West Coast Cool

4:30 p.m. Douglas Beach House 311 Mirada Rd, Half Moon Bay

Andy Langham - Piano, Kevin Axt - Bass, Dean Koba.. Drums, Kathy Kosins - vocals

"Think about an age when great songs were so plentiful that certain gems such could have fallen through the cracks, or when artists as distinctive as Anita O'Day, June Christy, Julie London and Chris Connor were simultaneously jazz singers and pop stars – who not only recorded frequently but headlined in the top venues - a period when no one questioned that such a thing could even be possible.

In an age when most so-called jazz singers seem to be doing the same ten songs over and over, Kathy Kosins is opening up a whole new world of possibilities.  "One this I've always enjoyed about Kathy Kosins is her ability to sell the song. Kosins is a melodic storyteller. Her voice is rich and warm as she interprets and vocally explores each song...-LAjazz.com www.ladiesofcool.com
