Coastal Rep's Coastside Talent Show

The Coastside Talent Show is this weekend at Coastal Rep Theatre at 1167 Main St. in Half Moon Bay. Titled the Great American Songbook, the event is a fundraiser and is loaded with high quality talent. It's fun for the entire family and features a lot of locals including Catie Chase, Shely Pack Dancers, Michele McDonald Dancers, and many terrific singers from Coastal Rep. Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Sunday at 2 p.m.

Friday Wine Tastings at New Leaf

Start your weekend off with a sample of wine or beer in the wine department at New Leaf. A different vendor is featured each week from 5 to 7 p.m.. Enjoy live music and a bite to eat while sampling. Must be 21+

Documentary Film "Tapped" With the Pacifica Beach Coalition

Learn more about plastic and the ways we can reduce our use of it at a special event hosted by the Pacifica Beach Coalition and Pacifica Libraries. Fresh Popcorn and refreshments - bring your cup and bowl to keep this a plastic free event. Film starts at 6:30 p.m. at Sharp Park Library - 104 Hilton Way. Followed by a discussion by Beth Terry, author of "Plastic Free: How I kicked the plastic habit, and how you can too."

Gray Whale Watching with the Oceanic Society

During each whale watching cruise Oceanic Society expert naturalists give talks on gray whales and the conservation efforts which brought them back from near extinction. These exciting and educational whale watching cruises are held on board motorized diesel vessels, from Half Moon Bay (3 hours) every Saturday and Sunday from December through mid-May. Bay Area All Star Salute to The Bach & Fundraiser

The yearly fundraisers at the Bach in Miramar keep getting better and more exciting each year. The repertoire is versatile, and will include swinging jazz/hard bop/post bop, Latin/Brazilian, bluesy-funky sounds, blending in flavors of world music, such as Balkan/Middle Eastern/ flamenco, featuring the sassy Kim Nalley headlining the vocal spot. $50.
