Lecture: Vital Children: Health for a Productive School Year

New Leaf Community Market’s presents Dr. Tanya Escobedo, Naturopathic Doctor, at the Half Moon Bay Library who will reveal the secrets to packing healthy lunches using power foods that fuel the young mind. Planning Commission Meeting

Planning commissioners Patric Bo Jonsson, Les Deman, Tom Roman, Vice Chair Thomas Conroy, and Chair Phil Rosenblatt will convene at the Department Operations Center at 7 p.m. in Half Moon Bay and address public hearing items concering a Coastal Development Permit and Use Permit for Mariners Commuinty Church and a sign program for Burger King.

San Mateo County’s Supervisorial District Lines Advisory Committee

The Board of Supervisors created the nine-member District Lines Advisory Committee after voters changed the County Charter in November 2012. The change requires that only voters within a district can elect a supervisor who lives in that same district to represent them. Under the prior system voters countywide elected all five supervisors. San Mateo County’s Supervisorial District Lines Advisory Committee is meeting in Half Moon Bay to go over the redrawn political boundaries. The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. Sept. 11, at the Cunha Intermediate School library, 600 Church St., Half Moon Bay. 

Thursday, Sept. 12

Plan Princeton Vision Workshop

At this interactive workshop at the Oceana Hotel & Spa help plan the future of Princeton. This will be a hands-on workshop where participants will be able to share their vision for the future development of the area. 

Friday, Sept. 13

'Hamlet’ at Cameron’s Restaurant 

The Half Moon Bay Shakespeare Company presents The Tragedy of HAMLET, Prince of Denmark at Cameron’s Inn and Pub, Cameron’s Outback, Half Moon Bay, this weekend with show times on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. Food drive benefits Coastside Hope. Saturday, Sept. 14

Harbor District Kite Festival

As part of the celebrations for the 80th year anniversary of the San Mateo County Harbor District there will be a kite festival at Oyster Point Marina and Park with food and activities such as food trucks, including Sam's Chowder House Food Truck, and 1,000 kites with string, which will be provided to kids starting at noon that day.

Lawn Alternatives Workshop 

At this workshop at Yerba Buena Native Plant Nursery in Half Moon Bay, learn how to convert your lawn to a native plant paradise with low-water alternatives that will bring your garden to life with butterflies, hummingbirds and fabulous native plant flowers. You will also bring home a gopher basket that you have made in this class.
