What Are Your Plans This Weekend?

Sheep shearing, surfing and a Saturday night at Coastal Rep. Here's what your neighbors are doing around town this weekend.

It's time for the weekend, and sunny skies and warm beach weather are expected through Sunday in Half Moon Bay. Wondering what else is happening around town? Here’s what your neighbors say they are looking forward to doing on the Coast this weekend:

Randy Bales says he’s performing live music Saturday from noon to 3 p.m.  at New Leaf as part of the market’s Summer Kickoff BBQ event. Grab a $5 lunch plate of grilled lunch specials and enjoy face painting and live music by Randy Bales' Chinese Melodrama at this community event.

Elkus Ranch advisory board member Stephanie Ulto Weber will be at Sheep at Shawl this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and reminds everyone to RSVP for the event by calling 650-712-3151 or e-mail lkjensen@ucanr.edu. At the annual event, visitors can watch a sheep shearer in action, see spinners turn the wool into yarn, dye wool, grind corn, and visit the ranch animals.

Johnny Donson writes to Half Moon Bay Patch, “Waves are coming!” Yes, they are! A swell is hitting the coast right now and surfers at area beaches can expect 4 to 7 foot waves, according to the Half Moon Bay surf report on Surfline.

David Brueggemann will also be at the beach but he’s planning to walk there. He writes, “Will love the weather but don't try driving around HMB or go over the hill because traffic will be BAD. I'll leave the car parked and walk down to the beach.”
