Hard to miss with its large signs and whimsically painted horse, Lemos Farm is located off Highway 92. This is aMore wonderful place for year-round family fun and enjoyment. Offering pony rides as well as hay and train rides, the farm also has a jump house and petting zoo. You can buy food and snacks on the farm or bring your own food to eat at their picnic area. They offer party packages that include 4 ponies and a cowboy to lead the children around the riding ring. Older children can even play laser tag.

During Halloween, the farm transforms into a pumpkin patch, featuring a haunted house and other ghoulish festivities. Halloween fun is available starting in September and running until October 31. During Christmas time, the farm turns into a winter wonderland where you can choose and cut down your own Christmas tree. Trees are up the day after Thanksgiving.

There is also a sand arena and an exercise pen with great views of the Pacific Ocean and Montara Mountain. The farm is a part of the Half Moon Bay Feed and Fuel, which has been serving coastal farmers and ranchers since 1911.

Coastside Farmer's Market has been a Saturday tradition in Half Moon Bay since 2002. From May through December youMore will find 30 to 40 vendors showcasing the farm-fresh produce, wild salmon, artisanal goat cheeses, regional honey, flowers, local art and live music.   

Most of vendors come from within the county – some of them from farms within walking distance of the market – and are chosen because they are self-sustaining, farmer run farms. It is the goal of the market organizers to champion small farms along the coast and local fishermen from Half Moon Bay harbor.

Although the focus is on the fresh produce, there is also a nice selection of prepared foods and bakery items, perfect for a light lunch while shopping and listening to the local musicians perform.

Firewood Farms

Since 1984, Firewood Farms has been an all-purpose wood-selling business. It has a variety of seasoned firewood (oak,More almond, eucalyptus and pine) and lumber as well as redwood slabs for tables and benches and wood planks for fence making. It also sells a large assortment of handcrafted wood carvings, both large and small. Owner Magnus Sandblom says the best part of his business is being able to visit with his customers and that often they will return "just to chat."
Posh Pumpkins

Posh Pumpkins, located inside Main Street Hair design, is a craft gallery featuring the handiwork of owner JulieMore Swanton. These decorative velvet pumpkins come in a variety of colors and sizes and make great gifts and decorations, and the larger ones can even function as doorstops. They also each feature a real pumpkin stem from the area's local farms. 

Posh Pumpkins are sold in Main Street Hair Design, but can also be found at the Half Moon Bay Farmers' Market, and at stores in the Bay area.
