Academically, Half Moon Bay High students have higher standardized test scores than the state average. And the school's chapter of Future Farmers of America has raised steers, hogs, lambs, turkeys, and rabbits for exhibition.</p>
<p>Despite these accomplishments, though, perhaps the school's most notable aspect is the high level of involvement from parents and the community. Principal Mary Streshly says that although Half Moon Bay High School is much smaller than other Bay Area schools, the level of engagement with students is much higher.</p>
