Ramon Sonoqui, Neighbor

Ramon Sonoqui was born in Mexico and spent a portion of his teenage years traveling through the northern states of Mexico. He has spent much of his life working in the agricultural field, and currently works at Giusti Farms. In 1999, Ramon and his wife of 38 years, Maria, were among the first residents to move into the Moonridge housing complex, located on the edge of Half Moon Bay. He is an active volunteer and began serving his community as a monitor for the communal laundry room. Since then, he has helped to plan many community events, and drew upon his experience in agriculture when developing the community garden at Moonridge. Most recently, he has been an important leader in the development and operations of the Moonridge Community Soccer League. The league gives children an opportunity to play soccer, regardless of their financial status.
