The
bass may not be an instrument which people are accustomed to hearing at length,
but on his solo CD The Bridge,  Charnett
Moffett showcases his "uncanny ability to play melody and harmony while
evoking sound that sometimes is like a trumpet, a sitar or a band."  Charnett has already had a most distinguished
career in jazz, appearing on over 200 recordings and working with  icons of music like Wynton Marsalis, Art
Blakey, Ornette Coleman, McCoy Tyner, 
Dizzy Gillespie, and many more.
